Many local merchants can help fit your party with the latest gear, for sale or rent, and direct you to such famous dive locales as “Octopus City” or “Mermaid Cove.” They're here to help bring you to the the world under the water.

If you're not adventurous enough to do the full deal and strap on the tanks, or if you're just in the mood for a little light diving, you'll find plenty of opportunity to snorkel near the surface of the water (below) off Myrtle Rocks (above). They're accessible at low tide right across from Oceanside, and provide a good mix of wall and

shallow lagoon diving. And think about it: you'll just have a short walk back to your barbeque.

We've already said that there's no place quite like Powell River to do some serious underwater exploring. When you're ready to do some serious above water relaxing, however, there's no better bargain than Oceanside. Our fully-loaded cabins have plenty of space for your gear and plenty of space for your tired, old (or young) body. How about a nice hot shower to punch through the cold? Kudos to you if you've put some drinks and some marinated sirloin in the fridge for apres dive.
